Myofascial & Trigger Point Release Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy (OT) services are grounded in medical science, nervous-system regulation, and functional outcomes. Unlike massage or bodywork alone, OT treatment is informed by advanced training in anatomy, neurology, fascia, lymphatics, and how the body integrates injury, stress, development, and daily function. Each service is evidence-informed and tailored to the individual.

Traditional Occupational Therapy–Based Manual Treatment

OT-based Myofascial Release (MFR) addresses restrictions in the fascial system that contribute to pain, limited mobility, postural imbalance, and nervous system dysregulation. Fascia is a continuous connective tissue network that influences muscles, joints, nerves, circulation, and organ function.

Using sustained, gentle pressure rather than forceful manipulation, this approach allows the tissue to soften and reorganize, creating lasting change rather than temporary relief.

Conditions commonly treated include:

• Chronic pain and tension patterns

• Neck, shoulder, and low-back pain

• Headaches and jaw dysfunction

• Postural strain and repetitive-use injuries

• Trauma-held tension patterns

• Scar tissue and post-surgical restrictions

Why OT-based Myofascial Release is different:

Occupational Therapists assess how fascial restrictions impact movement, breathing, sensory processing, and daily function—not just localized pain. Treatment is integrated with nervous system regulation and functional goals, making it especially effective for complex or chronic conditions.

Evidence support:

Research supports myofascial techniques for improving pain, mobility, and function in musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain syndromes, and post-injury recovery. Fascia-focused therapy has also been shown to influence autonomic nervous system balance and movement efficiency.

MFR combines both hands on techniques, as well as, treatment with assistive tools.

  • Treatment sessions are offered in 30 minute increments

  • MFR can be booked individually or as an adjunct to MLD treatment

  • Myofascial and Trigger Point Release 30 Minute $60+ tax

Sports Medicine & Injury Recovery (Myofascial Focus)

This specialized service blends myofascial release, neuromuscular re-education, and movement-based OT principles to support injury recovery and performance.

Ideal for:

• Athletes and active individuals

• Overuse and repetitive-strain injuries

• Acute and chronic sports injuries

• Return-to-sport or return-to-work transitions

Treatment focuses on restoring tissue glide, reducing compensatory patterns, improving proprioception, and supporting efficient movement mechanics.

OT advantage:

Occupational Therapists evaluate the whole movement chain and how injury affects performance, coordination, and daily activity demands—not just the injured tissue. This results in safer recovery and reduced risk of reinjury.

MFR combines both hands on techniques, as well as, treatment with assistive tools.

  • Treatment sessions are offered in 30 minute increments

  • MFR can be booked individually or as an adjunct to MLD treatment
